LAB-A is bringing brass ensemble to the 21st century with the help of LA-based emerging composers! Next Up: New Music for Brass features ten new works for brass ensemble and brass chamber groups, broadening the brass ensemble repertoire with a uniquely Los Angeles flair. 

Our 24-25 season finale will spotlight emerging composers as they build their musical careers, and foster artistic collaboration between composers and brass musicians.

Audiences enjoyed an evening with the Long Beach Symphony (LBS) and LAB-A, where we celebrated the influences of Latin American music through the vitality and brilliance of brass. 

This program featured the second-ever performance of Arturo Sandoval’s Brass Fantasy (2022), a world premiere by composer Noah Zubia-Sanchez, and a tuba solo featuring Long Beach Symphony Principal Tubist, Doug Tornquist!

Celebrating the beginning of our second season, the Los Angeles Brass Alliance brought to life music from the world of video gaming, covering the most popular games from the 90’s to present day.
